Solveigh Artschwager had this wholesome idea of inviting people across all ages, regardless of music experience, to play with random objects and self-made instruments, and together we set up a shared space at Basis Vinschgau, where the participants of the BUTOH dance workshop led by Shinichi Iova-Koga and Dana Iova-Koga joined the stage and experimented with each other.
We played with water, coconut shells, bottles, wine glasses, the body, an old chair, a frying pan, buckets, leaves, wood, seashells, tape, a broom, synths, acoustic guitar and more.
The result is a 6 min long song that I composed using the sounds we recorded in our sessions, for the dancers to move in a final performance.
